YOTIW offers weekly classes in yoga, pilates, and zumba. We have classes that vary from beginner, intermediate to advanced. Our teachers pour their heart, soul n creativity into a challenging yet nurturing practice. We are a collection of teachers with diverse trainings and backgrounds and invite you to enjoy the individuality of our teaching styles.
Ashtanga, which means “eight limbs” in Sanskrit is a fast pace, intense style of yoga. It Is based on ancient yoga teachings. It’s a rigorous style of yoga that follows a specific sequence of postures. Each style links every movement to a breath. Asthanga always performs the exact same poses in the exact same order. This is a hot, sweaty, physically demanding practice.
A set of physical exercises that uses bodily postures or asanas and breathing techniques. Hatha Yoga postures stretch and align body, promoting balance and flexibility. One of the main ones stems from one of the pillars of the Hatha style: breathing. Controlling breath can help improve oxygenation of the body and alleviate stress in some forms. Other elements of Hatha yoga also help with relaxing the body and fighting the stresses of the modern world.

The slow pace of this of this class allows you to enjoy each pose. Expect lots of stretching and lengthening with a heavy dose of relaxation to wrap up your practice and leave you feeling great.
Vikasa means evolution. Its an integral system of yoga, a philosophy based on tradisional concept of Hatha Yoga adapted for the modern life. Evolution of Yoga approach is based on integrating deep core work with precise alignment, combining active dynamic exercises from different disciplines with static poses from classic Hatha yoga schools.
Vinyasa which means breath-synchronized movement, tends to be a more vigorous style with a series of poses that will move you through the power of breathing inhaling and exhaling. A Vinyasa Yoga requires some stamina and also incorporating more advance postures with options. Each class is unique and will vary from teacher to teacher. You can always expect a great cardiovascular and strength building workout combined with breath work (pranayama). There are no routine in Vinyasa.

Before embarking on inversions, you’ll want to develop a combination of core and upper body strength as well as hamstring flexibility, so that you can enjoy being upside down without creating stress, strain or injury.
Core strength is the foundation of Pilates exercise. The core muscles are the deep internal muscles of the abdomen and back. When the core muscles are strong and doing their job as they are trained to do in Pilates, they work in tandem the more muscles of the trunk to support the spine and movement.

Gentle Yoga is a moderate form of yoga done for the joy of stretching stillness of mind while focusing on the breath.
