Desa Melawati, Kuala Lumpur – It was all delight and squeals of laughter at a new yoga studio in Saville@Melawati today. The studio is the third Yogaonethatiwant (YOTIW) branch after Damansara Perdana and Shah Alam. YOTIW also announced 2 new locations – Fuel Athletics in Damansara Heights and #yogabythepool in Bangsar. Founder of YOTIW, singer-songwriter cum entrepreneur, Atilia Haron, aims for this branch and 2 new locations to cater to the fitness needs of communities in Melawati, Ampang, Hulu Kelang, Gombak, Setiawangsa, Keramat, Damansara Heights, Bangsar, Bukit Tunku, Pantai, Pantai Dalam, Seputeh, Hartamas, Jalan Gasing and Mont Kiara.

This new Ampang YOTIW studio is spacious enough to fit 40 yogis, with floor to ceiling mirrors and walls splashed with colourful graffiti. It also has an area for lockers, a prayer corner, a shower cubicle, an open pantry with a table for six, a wall of fame where guests can leave their autographs and a retail store that sells yoga merchandise such as yoga mats, fitness bags, outfits and accessories.

Matin Fyzal, Coach at Fuel Athletics says ‘We are proud to announce our partnership with YOTIW. Our partnership with YOTIW offers access to the best yoga & fitness trainers in the industry and the best part is, the classes are open to individuals at any level of fitness’.

Fuel Athletics is a Functional Training Gym situated in Damansara Heights. With the partnership between YOTIW and Fuel Athletics, students from both have access to a wider range of classes per day, adding value to their membership benefits.

The fifth location, #yogabythepool in Bangsar was the brainchild of YOTIW’s pioneer student, Azie Moggie Doha. A busy mum of twin boys, she would come everyday to YOTIW to any class she could. It clicked to her one day that she would open up her spacious pool deck to YOTIW students so that YOTIW could come to her!

YOTIW also announced at launch event the partnership with KFIT. Now YOTIW class bookings are now supported by KFit where you can book YOTIW classes up to 7 days in advance via their website and App at www.kfit.com.

The day-long launch event was attended by some 100 people consisting of yoga enthusiasts, students, instructors, supportive friends and family. Much to guests’ delight, they were treated to free yoga and Zumba sessions that left them drenched in sweat and feeling super fit!

Apart from that, a fashion show was held to display yoga outfits by Yogaonethatiwant, Adidas, Ash Be Nimble, Lululemon and others. The garments were up for sale at The Lil Hippie Shop, a cosy retail corner located at all three YOTIW studios. Guests helped themselves to healthy snacks which included, charcoal noodles and air-fried banana wantons. To end the event with a bang, TV personality Daphne Iking and rap star Arabyrd played deejays, keeping the audience on the dance floor with their retro and club hits.

Atilia says ‘It was an awesome launch. So much love so much support, so much sincerity. I danced like there was no tomorrow and I taught with my bunny ears. I could have not asked for more’.

About #yogabythepool

One of YOTIW’s pioneer student, Azie Moggie Doha (Azie) is opening up her lovely home 3 times a week to offer classes to Bangsar YOTIW students. 7.30am on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10.30am on Friday (commencement date to be confirmed for Friday class).

Azie first started yoga 7 years ago but her real yoga journey only began in earnest when she turned 40 a couple of years ago and started going to YOTIW. Yoga has given her a strong sense of self-direction and determination that never sits at odds with all the demands around her, nothing feels like a sacrifice. She says it gives her purpose, sanctuary, satisfaction, all the things about a strong sense of self that is at the same time never selfish. “Apart from the physical / mental energy and well-being I get, what I love most about the ethos of YOTIW is its sincere vibe – the real, the honest, the true,” says Azie. She adds “What we’ve got coming up are solutions to share exactly this…hard to put a word on it…maybe that’s why we’ve got such a long one – YOGAONETHATIWANT!
